I made it!

I am currently sitting in my new home for the next couple months.. eating some delicious cadbury chocolate :) We left MPLS at about 7:45 pm.. got to Amsterdam at 3 am.. which was actually 10 am. Then we had a 2 hour layover.. and headed out to Madrid. Once we landed in Madrid.. we all got our luggage (nothing was lost!!!) met up with our program director, Ricardo, and got on a bus to Segovia. There, we met our host parents and went to their house. I live with my host mom - Amparo, and she is just a sweetheart. When we first got to her house, my "abuela" was here too.. just to say hello! I ate a little, unpacked a little and talked with Amparo. The apartment is right across the street from the beautiful cathedral and around the corner from Plaza Mayor.. so great! Then we met up as a group and walked around Segovia for a bit to try and start getting comfortable with the city.

It still hasn't really hit me that this is where I'm going to be living ALL semester. We'll see if it ever does... tomorrow we have orientation most of the day and getting some "basicos" done. Then our classes will start on Tuesday.

I'm going to go be a Spainard and sit in front of the TV!
